The expression “Sail the seven seas” is very common in epic stories. But can you tell which seas are those?

The “seven seas” appear in many cultures at different times. In Greek Literature, these seas were: Aegean, Adriatic, Mediterranean, Black, Red and Caspian.

In European Medieval Literature, the same expression referred to the seas of the North, Baltic, Atlantic, Mediterranean, Black, Red and Arabian.

However, the concept was changed again when the Europeans arrived in North America, which is similar to the current one, being more comprehensive:

- Arctic
- North Atlantic
- South Atlantic
- North Pacific
- South Pacific
- Indian
- Antarctic
