On June 25th, we went straight to Jakarta, 320 miles away. We avoided going through the Malaca Strait. He meant to go to Singapore but, due to the frequent pirate attacks, we chose to go to Jakarta.

When leaving, at the canal, depth was at 4.20 meters. We went really close to a trolley that was pulling an palm oil transporter, which we use in Brazil.

He had SE winds of 13 to 15 knots and our average was of 150 miles per day. We went by several trolleys pulling ships with steel cables of over 300 meters, without AIS or lighting.

We had to stay alert at all times. We were 3 miles away from SLCS – São Paulo ship, which had 209 meters and was headed to Davao at a speed of 16.4 knots. We arrived at the entry canal of Marina Batavia at midnight, when the tide was low and we wouldn’t risk getting stuck.

We had already reserved a spot for SY Kat.
